Ham Potato and String Bean Soup Recipe

Ingredients
1 ham hock
6 potatoes
2 cups string beans
Salt and pepper
Makes 4 to 5 servings
Directions
Place the ham hock in a large pot and add water until the hock is covered. Cook on medium to low heat for a minimum of two hours but until the meat is falling from the hock. As the water evaporates add more water as needed
When the broth is done (the ham hock is falling apart), remove the hock from the pot, remove the meat from the hock and add it back into the broth
Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, and put them into the broth together with the string beans
Cook until the potatoes are done, and serve with crusty bread.
